A final live Q&A session will complete the session.

INTERNATIONAL SPEAKERS

Amber Hogan Mitchell
DrPH, MPH, CPH (USA)
Dr. Mitchell’s career has been focused on public health and occupational safety and health related to preventing infectious disease. She is the President and Executive Director of the International Safety Center – a women-run non-profit. She also runs a successful consulting business and functions as a science advisor and subject matter expert for NIH/NIEHS, OSHA, and other Washington-based firms for infectious disease and the COVID-19 response. She serves as a board member for several occupational health and infection prevention organizations. Dr. Mitchell holds an adjunct faculty position at the University of Maryland School of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
Dr. Mitchell began her career as the first OSHA National Bloodborne Pathogens Coordinator and has received several Secretary of Labor Excellence awards for her work on bioterrorism and public preparedness. She holds a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree from the University of Texas School of Public Health and a Master’s in Public Health from The George Washington University. She is certified in Public Health as a member of the very first CPH cohort offered by the National Board of Public Health Examiners. Dr. Mitchell is also certified as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist with the American Council on Exercise and is training to be a Pilates Teacher.
She published her first book “Preventing Occupational Exposures to Infectious Disease in Health Care” for professionals with responsibilities for infection prevention and control and occupational health and safety programs.

Mahmoud Mukahal
RN, BSc, MSc, CIC (KSA)
Mr. Mahmoud Mukahal is an experienced leader in infection prevention and control. He is currently the chairperson of infection prevention and control in one of the largest tertiary medical complexes in the Middle East in Saudi Arabia. He has more than 16 years of experience in infection prevention and control. His primary focus is on preventing healthcare-associated infections among patients and healthcare workers.
He is especially interested in Infection Control education and training. He collaborated with the Ministry of Health and served as infection control diploma coordinator. He is certified as an infection control accreditation surveyor with Central Board Accreditation for Healthcare Institute, KSA. He is passionate about infection prevention and successfully managed to reduce healthcare-associated infections, e.g., Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infection and Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infection by implementing evidence-based guidelines using quality tools and methodologies. Mr. Mahmoud is actively engaged in research and has participated in publications related to patients’ and healthcare workers’ safety, e.g., “Needlestick and Sharp Injuries and the Magnitude of underreporting at a tertiary care hospital.”
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science from South Bank University, United Kingdom. He also gained his Master’s degree in Quality and Patient Safety in Healthcare Setting from the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland. He is certified in infection control as an Infection Control Specialist with the Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC), USA. He is a registered member with Nursing and Midwifery Council, United Kingdom, and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, Saudi Arabia.
Anu Rajora, RPh
Anu Rajora is a pharmacist and represents Medical Affairs for Diabetes and Safety functions at MTD Group. She sits on HIDA’s vaccine council, and is a member of MTD’s ESG Committee. As a medical affairs and medical marketing expert, she creates and executes unique professional or patient-facing programs, that deliver education and value to ultimately improve patient health or healthcare professional safety.

Ayoub Chybli
MBA, FACHE (USA)
Dr. Ayoub Chybli currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of Dari Health Services, overseeing clinical, operational and financial functions. Prior to this role, he served as the director of clinical pharmacy services and operations for HCA (a Fortune 500 company) in three cities in metro-Denver, Colorado where he oversaw clinical operations, clinical quality, strategic service line development, expense management and regulatory compliance. While at HCA, Dr. Chybli was responsible for 6 campuses which include acute care, behavioral health, rehabilitation, free standing emergency rooms, and retail pharmacies. Dr. Chybli also was responsible for a start-up telepharmacy project managing clinical interpretation of orders at 17 HCA hospitals across 5 states.
As a healthcare provider and administrator, Dr. Chybli served on several committees including infection prevention committees, and quality management committees which assist the organization in ensuring quality clinical care, patient and provider safety and quality improvement. Dr. Chybli served as the chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and Formulary System. Through these and many other committees, Dr. Chybli has been successful in making positive progress on patient and clinician safety initiatives.
Dr. Chybli has used his passion around mitigation of needlestick injuries and bloodborne pathogens, to become a subject matter expert in the drug diversion space, especially in the operating rooms where transmission of infections to patients have been well documented.
Specific to diabetes, Dr. Chybli oversaw the mass production of insulin syringes in a sterile IV compounding space and critically evaluated closure devices of the unit dose syringes prior to transfer to the floor for patient administration. He also critically evaluated types of vials and syringes to be delivered to the floor to reduce spread of bloodborne pathogens between multi-use products.
Dr. Chybli’s passion for improving patient health is well documented in his efforts around discharge counseling where he oversaw clinical and retail pharmacy teams to provide vital education on safe needle practices at home to reduce needlestick injuries. He actively works within the community and the general public to offer safe insulin needle/syringe disposal.
Dr. Chybli holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Calgary, Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Alberta, and MBA from Colorado State University. Dr. Chybli is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and member of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists.
